Orange Valley, First Flush - Darjeeling (India) - $5.38/oz
Often referred to as the "champagne of tea", Darjeelings are grown in altitudes of 6,000 feet and are some of the most revered teas in Asia.  This well balanced Darjeeling has a flowery bouquet ad soft character.  Mild and sweet aftertaste; light yellow to copper-red cup color.  Slight astringency characteristics of an early plucking.
Selimbong, Second Flush - Darjeeling (India) - $3.61/oz
Heavier aroma than a first flush tea with fruity-sweet with muscatel notes and a slightly nutty aftertaste.  Very smooth tea for anytime of the day.  Less astringent than the first flush selection.

Superior black tea grown in the southwestern Yunnan region of China, this tea has a high concentration of beautiful tippy, golden-colored leaves and offers a very flavorful nd brisk black tea that is highly aromatic with elegant spice tones.

Java teas are frequently used for blends such as English Breakfast Blend adding a Ceylon-like flavor.  This orange pekoe consists of long, dark leaves and has a light, copper-red cup color.  Subtle spicy aroma and smooth aftertaste wit a hint of spice.  Our House Iced Tea.
Kenya Milima Estate (Kenya, Africa) - $3.61/oz
Only producing teas from the early 1900's, Kenya is not the largest exporter of tea in all of the world.  Inconsistent quality due to sporadic weather conditions has caused the majority of Kenyan tea to be used primarily for blends and lower quality commercial teas but grown in the Kenyan Highlands with altitudes of 9,000 feet, the Milima Estate selection is an outstanding choice for a full-bodied tea.  With a dark-amber cup color and strong spicy-fruity aroma, this robust yet smooth black tea can rival any high quality Indian Assam or Nilgiri.
Himalayan Mountain Tips, First Flush (Nepal) - $5.38/oz
Grown high in the mountains of Nepal, this fine black tea offers a generous amount of silver tips that have classic high notes reminiscent of quality Darjeelings.  This tea has a light, floral aroma and a crisp, fresh finish that lingers on the palate.  Wonderful tea for any time of day.

Finest Grade Formosa, Organic (Taiwan) - $3.61/oz
Very rich and refreshing oolong tea with a pale amber cup color; fragrant, smooth and fruity-sweet flavor.  Revered as the finest Oolong teas in the world, this Taiwanese tea is still hand rolled and fired by master artisans.
Fine Ti Kuan Yin (China) - $3.61/oz
Beautiful, full-bodied Oolong tea with a smooth taste and carries a sought-after orchid-like flavor.  Slightly sweet.  Excellent choice to accompany or follow a meal.
Tung Ting Jade Oolong (Taiwan) - $6.47/oz
Named after its bright jade cup color, this artisan Oolong is still hand rolld by master tea craftsman in the Tung Ting Mountains of Taiwan with altitudes of 6,000 feed or higher.  This Oolong is only 22% oxidized (significantly less than other Oolongs) and reflects more qualities of a fine green tea than a fully oxidized black tea.  Highly aromatic with striking notes of honeysuckle and gardenia.  Full-bodied, sweet and refreshing taste that lingers on the palate.
Wuyi Mountain Milk Oolong (China) - $6.47/oz

This is a very unique Oolong tea that comes from the Wuyi Mountains of the Fujian Province in China. Grown in altitudes of 4,000 feet, this premium Oolong tea possesses not only light orchid notes but rich, milky notes as well. During the harvest between March and December, the leaves are semi-oxidized and withered in an air conditioned room until the desired level of oxidation has occurred. When this level has been reached, the temperature in the room is suddenly shifted. This process causes a natural reaction within the leaves which gives this tea its "milky" characteristics.

China Chun Mee (Chun Mei)
(China) - $2.89/oz
Famous "precious eyebrow" green tea with light and earthy aroma; mildly astringent and a slight plum afertaste.  Great choice for novice green tea drinkers or the avid connoisseur.
Special Grade Gunpowder, Organic (China) - $2.89/oz
Tighltly rolled pellets with a pleasantly sweet and smoky aroma.  Nice, simple vegetal taste and slight astringency reflective of many green teas. 
Fine Young Hyson (China) - $3.61/oz
An exquisite green tea created from young, rolled and twisted leaves.  A full-bodied tea with little astringency and if brewed with a sparing amount of leaves can offer a lightly sweet and mild flavor without the smoky notes of a gunpowder.
China Clouds & Mist (China) - $5.38/oz
Named for the perfect tea growing climate, this Chinese tea has fine, dark green leaves and when infused offers a bright green cup color and a sweet fragrance.  The taste is smooth, flowery and slightly green tasting.
Kukicha, Roasted Twig (Japan) - $3.61/oz
A popular Japanese tea made from the stems of the tea leaves.  It offers a mild, nutty-woody aroma and flavor.  Very smooth taste and no astringency.  Reputed to have relaxing properties.  Very low in caffeine.
Bancha, Organic (Japan) - $2.89/oz - 40% off
The "vin de table" of the Japanese green teas, consisting of coarser and more mature leaves than the Sencha Fine.  A brisker tea with a more vegetal taste, but still refined and smooth.
Fine Sencha (Japan) - $5.38/oz
Elegant, flat, dark green leaves produced from the world famous manicured estates of Japan, these leaves yield a very fragrant, aromatic cup with a subtle sweetness.  A vitalizing smooth aftertaste.  Very little astringency with a clean, crisp, earthy aroma and taste. 
Gyokuro, Asahina - Extra Fine (Japan) - $6.47/oz
Meaning "jewel dew" in Japanese, this exquisite green tea belongs to the world's finest and rarest teas.  The tea bushes are covered with straw shades two to three weeks before harvest in order to slow growth and increase chlorophyll production thus creating a tea very low in tannins.  These tender, dark leaf tips are harvest from the first flush in early spring and offer a very flavorful, fresh and mild tea with a flowery aroma and a smooth yet vitalizing taste. 
Vietnamese Lotus Green (Vietnam) - $3.61/oz
A nice and refreshing green tea infused with the scent of lotus flowers.  Aromatic and sweet smelling.  Slightly astringent, but smooth tasting.  Excellent afternoon tea. 
Imperial Blossom (China) - $5.38/oz
This blooming tea is constructed of dozens of tender leaf buds that are carefully tied together with a fine thread, then rolled by hand to form a silver ball resembling a lychee nut.  When infused in hot water, the bloom unfolds into a rosette, releasing its subtle and complex aroma.  Good for multiple infusions.
GenMai-Cha, "Brown Rice Tea" (Japan) - $3.61/oz
A Japanese specialty!  The fine leaves of a Sencha green tea are blended with roasted, partially puffed rice, giving it a toasty and slightly nutty flavor.
Jasmine Green (Taiwan) - $3.61/oz
A delightful tea scented with jasmine flowers creating a light and refreshing taste with a slight natural sweetness.  A subtle aoma and pale cup color.  Very pleasant taste that can be enjoyed either hot or iced. 
Fine Lung Ching - Dragon's Well, Organic (China) - $5.38/oz
 
Produced in the Zehjiang Province of  China, this Lung Ching is probably the most renowned green tea in the world.  Entirely handmade by skilled artisans, this tea has a subtle chestnut flavor, a bright jade cup color, fresh aroma and a sweet, nutty taste that makes it enjoyable to even the green tea novice.  This has long been a staff favorite and is highly recommended.

                                        White Teas & Pu-Erh

Silver Needle (Yin-Zhen) (China) - $6.47/oz
A very high quality white tea produced in the Chinese Fujian Province, offers the most tender leaves and single buds.  All leaves and buds are hand-plucked at the time they have just fully developed, but before they are fully open.  All leaves are covered in a soft white don ad when infused, the silver needle produces a pale yellow liquor with an extrodinary fresh, sweet fragrance.  Delicate and subtle flavors.  This tea is the least processed thus retaining the highest amount of antioxidants.  The most healthful of all teas.
White Peony (Pai Mu Tan) (China) - $5.38/oz
This tea is made from the same bushes that yields the Silver Needle, but using the more mature leaves plucked at a later date.  This tea has a similar natural sweetness, but a darker cup color and bolder aroma.  It is unusually lively and fresh tasting with no bitterness and slightly vegetal tasting.
The Blanc de Cassis, Organic (China) - $5.38/oz
A high grade China White Peony scented with hints of black currants and cherries.  Very subtle aroma and light cup color.  An excellent choice for an afternoon or an after dinner dessert tea with very little caffeine and a nice, sutle fruit flavor.  Staff favorite!
Darjeeling Poobong (India) - $8.89/oz *limited quantity
White teas are produced only by steaming and drying the leaves and budsets and are primarily manufactured in China.  When you apply this technique to the leaves grown in the Himalayan Mountains of Darjeeling, India, the result is a flavor profile subtle like a traditional white tea but also possesses floral notes that is distinctive of a true Darjeeling.  This tea is very rare and entirely handmade.  The dried leaves have colors of autumn leaves and when steeped, the light-bodied liquor has a beautiful amber cup color and an amazingly sweet taste with no astringency.  Any tea lover should definitely try a cup of this at least once to appreciate its manufacturing simplicity and its flavor complexity.

Pu-Erh Tuo Cha, Bird's Nest  (China) - $5.38/oz
A completely fermented tea that is packed into small bowl-shaped "nests", individually wrapped in paper and aged for a minimum of five years.  Remarkably mellow tasting with subtle nutty notes and rich underlying hardiness.  Very strong and pungent aroma, but surprisingly a smooth and pleasant taste.  Very low in caffeine.  Many scientists have concluded that Pu-Erh teas help lower a person's LDL cholesterol and aids in reducing one's body weight.
Bold-Leaf Pu-Erh, Loose Leaf (China) - $3.61/oz
A medium-bodied, bold leaf Pu-Erh with flowery and earthy flavors.  Very robust taste, but still quite smooth.  Deep red-amber cup color and rich underlying hardiness is appealing to many coffee drinkers yet it is very low in caffeine.
Blood Orange Pu-Erh (China) - $4.51/oz
Tangy citrus flavors and earthy Pu-Erh combine to create a complex and distinctive blend that will appeal to those who prefer full-bodied and robust teas and also those who enjoy a clean, crisp cup.

Pure Rooibos, Organic (South Africa) - $2.89/oz
Caffeine-free herbal beverage rich in essential minerals and can be enjoyed both hot or chilled.  Rooibos has a characteristically mild and aromatic flavor and a soft, slightly citric sweetness.  Unlike Black teas, it is very low in tannins so it cannot turn bitter.
Green Rooibos with Peach (South Africa) - $2.89/oz
The un-oxidized green rooibos contains all the minerals of the regular rooibos, but has by comparison a fresher, lighter taste ad fruity-sweet character.  Scented with bits of fresh peach, it makes a delicious cup whether hot or iced.
Pure Rooibos with Orange Blossoms (South Africa) - 2.89/oz
Excellent blend of orange blossoms and citrus peels that enhance this naturally decaffeinated herbal beverage. A house favorite!
Lemon Chiffon Rooibos (South Africa) - $3.61/oz
